Our Community Is In Crisis
Hurricane Helene left a trail of destruction throughout Asheville and its surrounding areas. With nearly 14 inches of rain over just a few days, the storm caused severe flooding, power outages, and widespread devastation. Roads have been washed away, homes destroyed, and entire neighborhoods, especially those on the outskirts, have been left isolated without access to essential services.

Real Stories, Real Impact
Communities that were already marginalized now face even more challenges. Residents in areas outside Asheville’s city limits are struggling without power, clean water, and basic supplies. Many have been cut off from the resources available within the city.

Our Response
At OurAVL.org, we are committed to helping those who need it most. We have shifted our focus from our ongoing work on Reparations to provide urgent relief in the aftermath of this disaster. Our team is conducting wellness checks and delivering food, water, and medical supplies to the most vulnerable communities.
